South Macon Elementary School opened its doors to students for the first time on August 7th, 2001. Union and Otto Elementary Schools were consolidated and about one hundred twenty-five students were added from East Franklin and Cullasaja Elementary Schools to total more than 500 students. There are more than eighty staff members that strive to meet the academic, physical and emotional need of each and every individual student.
